Some schools only accept children resident within a defined catchment areas, so it's essential to check with the school before committing to a lease. Long waiting lists and expensive debentures can also be a factor affecting choice of schooling and even the viability of a Hong Kong relocation.
The English Schools Foundation and the International schools attract a range of ex-pat nationalities and local Chinese. Generally, the International schools are biased towards their home nationality and curriculum and are more expensive than the state subsidized ESF.
