Hong Kong Bars, Clubs and Restaurants
On Hong Kong Island the week-end starts on Friday night with a lot of Westerners congregating in the restaurants and bars of Lan Kwai Fong.
Just up the hill, the SoHo ('South of Hollywood Road') district is popular for restaurants. If you like a little 'people watching' with your drink or meal Stauntons is conveniently situated next to the 800m outdoor escalator that connects Central with Mid Levels. Happy Valley, Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui (try Knutsford Terrace next to The Stanford Hillview Hotel behind the Observatory in 'TST') also boast a good selection of eateries, but many of them are off the ground floor and may not have English menus.
Hong Kong's famous skyline and the daily 8pm 'Symphony of Lights' are best enjoyed from a restaurant or bars with 'a view'. Try:

As the night moves on there are 'band' venues like Insomnia (Lan Kwai Fong) and Dusk 'Til Dawn (Wan Chai) that rock until the early hours. Alternatively, choose between up-market clubs or go to the other extreme with Wan Chai's mix of girlie bars and pubs.
