The Ferries of Hong Kong
The Hong Kong main ferry hub is on the central waterfront. If you start at Queens Pier (scheduled for demolition and used for the public boarding/alighting of private vessels) you pass the waterfront development area before reaching the following piers:
- Piers 7 and 8 run Star Ferry services to TST and Central To Hung Hom respectively.
- Pier 6 to Peng Chau (First Ferry).
- Pier 5 to Cheng Chau (First Ferry)
- Per 4 to Lamma (Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry). Either go from Central to Yung Shue Wan (Ordinary / Fast Ferry Service) or go to Sok Kwu Wan (Fast Ferry Service).
- Pier 3 to Discovery Bay (DB Transportation Services).
- Pier 2 to Park Island (Park Island Transport Company).
- Central Government Pier.
- Pier for Macau Ferries (no visa required).
There are ferries servicing parts of Hong Kong island, other than Central, that give access to other outlying islands.
